No Sound on Computer or Laptop

You can’t hear the sound after you just connected the TV to the computer with an HDMI cable? Check the settings for sound output in your system’s preference.

Mac Output Settings

  1. Hold down the Option (Opt) key
  2. Click the Sound icon in the top menu bar
  3. Select the desired output device
  4. Click the Apple icon in the top left
  5. Select System Preferences
  6. Find and click the Sound setting icon
  7. Select the Output tab
  8. Select the device

 

Windows

Steps can vary depending on the version of the operating system.

  1. Click the “Start” button on the lower-left corner of the screen.
  2. Click the Windows
  3. The sounds and audio devices properties window appears.
  4. Select Manage Audio Devices (if present)
  5. Select the Playback Tab - may be called Output
  6. Select the desired device
  7. Click OK
