Most sound issues are related to either volume settings or the mute features on your device. If you’ve already checked the common audio problems, here are some other things to try.
On iOS
- Go to Settings > General > Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds.
Note: If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPhone or iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds. - If you chose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
- If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the control center. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to get to Control Center. Tap on the Bell icon and system sounds will return.
On Android
- Navigate to Settings > My Device > Sound.
- Tap Volume.
- Adjust the volume for Music, video, games, and other Media.
- Tap OK.
On Windows
- Clear all temp browser files.
- Verify all software is up to date (Flash, Browser, and OS).
- Try resetting your browser:
- Internet Explorer - Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Reset
- Firefox - Help > Troubleshooting Information > Reset
- Chrome - Settings > Add New User
- Install VLC media player from VLC.org. This is an all purpose media player, however some older versions of Windows benefit from the shared codecs it installs. Codecs are used for video playback.
